Bay of Islands, New Zealand

Sailing into the Bay of Islands the scent of sweet blossoms filled the air

Greeted by fierce and proud Maori tribe

 Taken to historic Kerikeri, where the first house, Kemp House and Stone Store were built in New Zealand.  Built for early missionaries.

It was here I discovered the blooming magnolia trees and gardens that flourish on many of the islands, sweetening the air

Continued on to the sacred Puketi Forest into the 
Manginagina Reserve

The Maori people have a strong connection to the spiritual realm and their many stories and myths connect them the landscape

Visit Russell, a small town with 800 residents across the bay
